Mit der steigenden Beliebtheit von Orten wie Ljubljana und Bled ist Kranj die perfekte Stadt, um Kultur, Geschichte oder Natur zu geniessen. 1# Slovenski Trg (Slowenischer Marktplatz)
Etwas außerhalb der Hauptstraße und neben der Stadtbücherei kannst du sich am Slovenski Trg entspannen. Es gibt viele Cafés rund um den Platz, aber du kannst auch einfach das Wetter auf einer der Bänke genießen. Es ist auch der beste Ort, um das Gymnasium Kranj zu besuchen, unsere wichtigste Mittelschule, die 1810 vom Gouverneur der Illyrischen Provinzen unter Napoleon gegründet wurde.
2# Mestna knjiznica (Stadtbibliothek)
Die Stadtbücherei «Mestna knjiznica» wurde 2011 an ihren jetzigen Standort verlegt und fördert die Freude am Lesen, Verstehen und Reflexion des Gelesenen durch Aktivitäten wie Familienleseprojekte, Erzählstunden und Leseempfehlungen für Kinder und Erwachsene.
3# Maistrov trg (Maisterplatz)
Was? Noch ein Platz? Ja, Kranj hat viele davon. Dieser heißt Maistrov trg und ist nach dem General Rudolf Maister benannt, der die Stadt Maribor und ihre Umgebung vor einem Annexionsversuch Österreich-Ungarns während des Ersten Weltkriegs sicherte. Wie du sehen kannst, stehen viele Cafés und Läden zur Auswahl, oder wenn du das Gefühl hast, dass du einen neuen Haarschnitt brauchst, haben wir das auch :)
4# Presernova ulica (Preseren Straße)
Der wohl größte slowenische Dichter, France Preseren, lebte in Kranj, so dass es natürlich eine Reihe von Dingen gibt, die nach ihm benannt wurden, darunter diese schöne Straße. Lustige Tatsache - die slowenische Nationalhymne basiert auf "Zdravljica", die er schrieb.
5# Glavni Trg (Hauptplatz)
Überraschung, Überraschung, das ist der Hauptplatz der Stadt. Er dient als Veranstaltungsort, lokaler Bauernmarkt und für Einheimische, um sich zu treffen, um allgemeine, offensichtliche Kommentare über das Wetter auszutauschen (z.B.: so ein schöner Tag heute, nicht wahr?).
6# Enge Straßen & schöne Häuser
Egal, wohin du im Stadtzentrum hingehst, du wirst schöne, enge Gassen und malerische Häuser sehen.
7# Layerjeva hisa (Layer Haus)
Eines der Cafés, das wir im Sommer immer gerne besuchen, ist Layerjeva hisa - wie du sehen kannst, hat es eine große Terrasse. Oh und übrigens, sie bieten auch Unterkunft/Übernachtung an.
8# Schloss Khislstein (alt. Kieselstein)
Falls du auf der Suche nach einer Tasse eines erfrischenden Getränks bist, einer kulturellen Veranstaltung (z.B. Freiluftkino oder Theater) oder nach Entspannung in einem Park, dann ist Schloss Khislstein der richtige Ort.
9# Mitnica Bar
Ein weiterer cooler Ort für eine Pause ist die Bar Mitnica, welche sich in einem Zollhaus aus dem 16. Jahrhundert am Eingang der Stadt befindet.
10# Kokra-Schlucht
Es gibt noch mehr - es gibt eine tiefe Schlucht mit dem Fluss Kokra, die direkt durch das Stadtzentrum führt. Wenn du also deine Füße ins Wasser tauchen möchtest oder einfach nur im Baumschatten spazieren gehen willst, dann kannst du das in der Kokra Schlucht tun.
11# St. Cantianus Kirche
Falls du dich für alte Kirchen interessierst - die St. Cantianus Kirche und Nebenkirchen wurden im 15. Jahrhundert erbaut. Sie diente als Vorlage für spätgotische Kirchen im Gebiet des modernen Sloweniens.
12# Presernovo Gledalisce (Preseren Theater)
Bis ins Jahr 1945 zurückreichend, ist es das Haupttheater von Kranj und es ist auch nach dem großen Dichter France Preseren benannt. Von außen sieht er auch fantastisch aus und dient manchmal auch als Skatepark für lokale Tony Hawk-Imitatoren.
13# Plecnik Treppenhaus und Arkaden
Nun, der Name sagt im Grunde genommen alles :) Joze Plecnik war einer der einflussreichsten slowenischen Architekten und hatte seinen Einfluss auf die moderne Architektur von Städten wie Wien, Prag, Ljubljana und wie du sehen kannst, Kranj.
14# Pungert
Am Ende des Stadtzentrums, wo die Flüsse Kokra und Sava zusammenfließen, liegt Pungert. Es hat einen tollen Verteidigungsturm, eine Aussichtsplattform, ein schönes Café und einen Spielplatz für die Kleinen. Hier befindet sich auch das Jazz Kamp Kranj, eine internationale Veranstaltung, die ein umfangreiches Workshop-Programm mit einer Reihe von Abendkonzerten verbindet - vergiss das Montreux Jazz Festival, hier werden alle coolen Kids sein :)
15# Terasa Bar
Falls du dachtest, dass wir mit Cafés/Bars fertig sind. Nein, es gibt noch eine andere coole Bar, wo wir gerne etwas unternehmen - die Terasa Bar. Sie ist direkt unterhalb des Stadtzentrums, wenn du von den Plecnik Arkaden die Treppe hinuntergehst.
16# Kavarna Bazen (Schwimmbad-Café)
Kavarna Bazen oder "das Schwimmbadcafé" ist ein cooler Ort, um den besten Burger der Stadt zu genießen, um nur ein paar Drinks direkt am Fluss zu nehmen oder um eine Veranstaltung im Konzertsaal zu besuchen. Der Grund für den Namen "das Schwimmbad" ist, dass diese Anlage früher das städtische Hallenbad war.
17# Bahnhof Squat
Falls du dich für die alternative Szene interessierst, die lokale Jugend des Bahnhofes Squat versorgt dich mit vielen Veranstaltungen, welche alle deine alternativen Geschmäcker zufrieden stellen werden.
