Top 10 Places to Visit in Switzerland

Here are the top 10 places to visit in Switzerland:

1# Grindelwald

I'm going to start with Grindelwald. It is a must see place in Switzerland for all the mountain lover. From there you can see the mountain called Eiger (3.967 m), which is especially known among climbers. Besides Eiger, Grindelwald is known for amazing mountain hikes to the Kleine Scheidegg, Jungfraujoch, Mönch...

2# Interlaken

In the central Switzerland there is a place called Interlaken. It is known for its adventure activities like paragliding, rafting, kayaking, hiking etc. This sports hub is also special due to its location - it is situated between two stunning lakes - Brienzersee and Thunersee.

3# Lauterbrunnen

Situated between the gigantic mountain peaks, Lauterbrunnen is one of the most beautiful valleys we have ever been to. Also, there are majestic Waterfalls in every corner! Make sure to come back in winter and do some cross-country skiing - we did it and loved the scenic surroundings.

4# Mürren

When in Lauterbrunnen, walk or drive all the way to the cable car station called Stechelberg take the Schilthorn cable car to Mürren. Mürren is a car-free mountain village in the scenic Jungfrau region. It is worth the visit due to its incredibly beautiful panoramic views!

5# Zermatt

Probably you already heard of Zermatt. It's definitely a place to check out due to its world-famous mountain called Matterhorn. If you ascend to the Stellisee and you have good weather, you can admire the mirror-effect like on the picture below. Here is a blog post about two hikes you should do when in Zermatt.

6# Niederbauen Chulm

There are tons of beautiful hiking trails in Switzerland but one is quite special - it takes you to the Niederbauen Chulm (1.923 m) and provides amazing views over the Lucerne lake. The cool thing about it is that it is not as famous like Pilatus or Rigi, so don't expect it to be crowded (yet) :)

7# Vineyards of Lavaux

The vineyards of Lavaux are another breathtaking place in Switzerland, which you shouldn't skip when visiting the country. You can do a lovely walk from St. Saphorin to Lutry. Read more about it here. The trail takes you between the vineyards and along the majestic Geneva lake. Make sure you visit this place!

8# Uetliberg

If you're staying in Zurich and you're up for some stunning views of the city, there is this mountain called Uetliberg. You can hike up (ca. 45 min) or you can even reach it by taking a train. Once there, you will have a 360 panoramic view, it's amazing. One hint: Head to this place for sunrise.

9# Walensee Lake

Switzerland shouldn't be left without a stop at the picturesque lake called Walensee. Why is it so special? I guess because of two things: The lake is surrounded by majestic mountains with lots of beautiful hiking trails and the colour of the water is magically turquoise.

10# Verzasca Valley

Last but not least, the Verzasca valley is an absolute MUST SEE in Switzerland. Do you see that water below? Do you see its colour? It's really like that! I think I never saw something like this before. It's amazing! You can even swim in it. Make sure to head to this incredible place.
