What are the best capital cities in Europe? Since we've almost been to all countries in Europe, we created a list of our favorite and in our opinion the best capital cities in Europe to visit. Make them the priority! Here you go.

Best Capital Cities in Europe
1# Tallinn, Estonia
Tallinn is the best capital city eeeeveeer!! Such a cool city with a great vibe. It's first on this list, as we love it so much. Read more about it here.
2# Reykjavik, Iceland
This summer (2020) we went on a road trip around Iceland. Before that, when planning our trip, we were sure to skip Reykjavik ("just another city, Iceland is all about nature"). However, due to the pandemic, we had to wait for our test results so staying close to Reykjavik seemed to be a good idea. The results were negative, and as we were close to the city, we decided to give it a try. And luckily we did! We really really liked it - it felt more a town as a city with all these small and colourful wooden houses. Such a cute city. A blog post about Iceland is coming soon!
3# Warsaw, Poland
I've been twice to Warsaw (once visiting my friend who was studying there & once as a stop before flying to Georgia) and I would go back anytime. Do you see this photo below? Nice, right? Beautiful colourful houses, lots of great restaurants and cafes, well maintained parks etc.

4# Kiev, Ukraine
Kiev was a huuuuge surprise to me. I haven't expected much. But the city is really cool. Lots of parks - very big ones. Lots of great viewpoints and even a long beach at the riverside. Read more about it here.
5# Lisbon, Portugal
I've been to Lisbon many many many years ago but I can still remember how cool the city was! Lots of sights, numerous restaurants with delicious food, great atmosphere, a castle, great viewpoints... even trams. And lots of sunshine! If there was no pandemic this year, I would return this autumn.
6# Budapest, Hungary
Budapest is so close to Slovenia but I've visited it aged 29 or so :) I don't know why I waited so long. Why I'm saying this? Because it's an awesome city. Lots of scenic bridges, interesting museums, historic buildings etc. But my favorite thing was walking around Budapest in the evening - many buildings are illuminated, which makes the whole city experience so romantic! Read more about it here.
7# Bucharest, Romania
The same as Kiev - I haven't expected much but then I got positively surprised. Huge buildings with lots of history, many restaurants and cafes, narrow streets... so beautiful. Bucharest makes it a great city for bloggers - cheap but lots of places to work online. Wanna go back one day.
8# Rome, Italy
I was visiting a friend in this beautiful city called Rome. It was a very hot summer but I could feel the great vibe in this city! It is full of life, the parks and cafes are full of people - a city everyone has to see once in their lifetime.
9# Istanbul, Turkey
When I think of Istanbul, I think of yummy food, delicious coffee, awesome pomegranate juice, gorgeous buildings and sights. I also loved those beautiful sunsets over the city! Read more about it here.
10# Ljubljana, Slovenia
If you haven't been to the capital city of my home country - Slovenia - you have to buy the flight ticket right now! It's all you need - green, clean, friendly, charismatic. Lots of cafes along the river. Like Budapest and Bucharest, there are many historic building to admire. Go and make memories! Read more about it here.
Bonus: Tbilisi, Georgia
If you count Georgia to Europe, then Tbilisi belongs onto this list for sure! The mixture of old and new buildings makes the city special and worth visiting. Read more about it here.
