Hello guys! It's us - Sonja and Jerry. We are a couple, trying to stay healthy in a world full of stress, pressure, competition and unhealthy food. Huh, that's a bit negative, right? Let's start again. We are a couple, dreaming of a life with purpose and deep meaning. Travelling, adventure and outdoor activities are the three things we love the most. From the educational point of view, I have a Master degree in International Business, while Jerry has graduated from Social Informatics (Statistics). We are both good in analytics. Besides that, we consider ourselves as people with a healthy lifestyle, what means, spending a lot of time outdoors, doing sports, eating organic food, drinking a lot of water and relaxing.

We used to live in Slovenia until 2012. A great time and a beautiful country, but starving for new experiences, we decided to make a change. In 2012, we packed our stuff and moved abroad - to Switzerland. Why Switzerland? Oh, I forgot to mention. I'm half Slovenian, half Swiss. I was raised bilingual. That is why I didn't have the language barrier problems as many people who move abroad may face. However, we're struggling with other stuff which we're going to write about on this blog. Nevertheless, we experienced what leaving our home country, family and friends means and learned how to organise a new life in a foreign country. Besides the challenge of living abroad, we experience day after a day how it is to work abroad. We are trying to figure out, what a perfect work-life balance would be and how to stay healthy and find our inner balance. To do so, we found three things which makes us satisfied and fulfils our lives:

- adventurous travelling around the globe

- eating healthy

- hiking, cycling, yoga, kayaking, hammocking

We love hammocking :)
We love hammocking :)

Are you looking for a new life abroad? How would it be if you packed your stuff and lived in a new country?

How do you deal with the daily work-life situation? Have you found your balance yet?

Let us ask you, how do you keep yourself healthy? Any secrets you have?

Are you passionate about travelling? Why do you travel? Are you more kind of an adventurous traveller?

Are you interested in travelling to less-touristy places? Us too! We're going to visit some of the offbeat places in the world, like the AzoresGreenland, Faroe or Svalbard Islands.

Jerry was sooo happy to see the dinosaur.. but unfortunately, the dinosaur didn't feel his love and attacked him immediately. However, Jerry is still alive. And his love to dinosaurs? It didn't go away :)

Hi, I like your blog a lot! I also moved to another country, Belgium. I have been living here my 6th year now and I think that moving out of my home country, was the best decision I have ever made. I have met many interesting people from all over the world, learned a lot including improving my French, learnt to be more independent as I was alone in the beginning, discovered so many new places and tastes... I think it opens your eyes once living abroad and it makes you stronger in certain point of view. I just miss some more sun and natural wonders here in Belgium but every country has its pros and cons :) Slovenia and Switzerland are beautiful countries, I am happy to read more about those on your blog!

Hey Michaela! Thanks for visiting my site. I'm happy that you like your new life in Belgium! It is such a courageous and rewarding move to go and live abroad! When you move abroad, you start to appreciate the little things you had back home but you also welcome the new things in your life. Hope to meet you in Switzerland or Slovenia one day ;)

    Hi Sonja,

I came across a few travel articles on your blog that I really like, such as

The company I work for, GPSmyCity, has developed a technology to turn travel articles, like yours, into mobile apps equipped with offline map and GPS navigation assistance. Travelers can use the travel article app as a guide for visiting the points of interest mentioned in the article. The travel article apps are sold on iTunes App Store and Google Play. This service is free for travel bloggers since we work on a revenue share basis.

GPSmyCity is interested in working with you to convert your travel articles into mobile apps. If you are also interested, please reply to this email so I can send you additional information about our service.

    Best regards,
    Saul Tarasoff

Hi guys!!! I ended in your blog while looking for lakes to discover in Switzerland and... I found out our stories and inner drives so similar that made me want to meet you guys for a coffee!! We also love adventure, travel to off-the-beaten track spots in the world, stay healthy, personal growth, sports, take care of the environment... It's been 3,5 years now that we moved to Switzerland and the 1st year was also tought! at least for me where all the burocracy and appartment search is soooo diferent than from my country of origin, Spain!! we sold all our staff in 2012, 2 years after we met in Barcelona, and travel sabbatical for a few months around Asia with the ligthest backpacks we could made at that moment... (althought the journey taught us that we could have done it even lighter and that's what we are doing now!!) without a pre-planned end destination, just following what we want and feel... and here we ended! living in Nyon and I love it while we continue travelling! It's been fun to meet you virtually, wish you continue with such joy and spirit!!

    Hi Merce
Sorry for my very late reply :/
Thanks for reading our blog! Means a lot! That's great that you have the same inner drives as we do! I think stories like that make us feel more connected. Yes, living in Switzerland can be also tough sometimes, I totally agree. The bureaucracy is quite challenging :) We haven't been to Nyon yet, is it a beautiful city to explore? Would love to go there once. We're always open for a coffee! Zurich is a good place for that too:)
