Hm... so what to do in Switzerland in winter? There are a bunch of epic things you can do it this winter wonderland! We have listed some of them below (+hopefully we can add some more in the future). Let's have a look:

What to Do in Switzerland in Winter
Go Skiing in Hasliberg
Switzerland has many ski resorts you can choose from. One of them is Hasliberg, which offers beautiful views over the lakes in the valley and the surrounding mountains. Some other ski resorts which we really like in Switzerland are: Laax, Rienerhorn, Adelboden and Saas-Fee.
Cross-country Skiing in Davos
Davos is THE center for cross-country skiing. Put your skies in the car (or take the train) and drive to this winter spot. Many km of lovely cross-country tracks are awaiting you - for beginner to advance level! All you can dream of! :) And yes, it's for free! Woohoo.
Soak Up the Views from Uetliberg
Want to see the Zurich lake from above? Then head to Uetliberg - a mountain you can climb (about 40 Minutes) or even access by train from Zurich! And yes, it is definitely worth it also in winter. Have a look!
Go Hiking from Saanenmöser to Gstaad
There is a lovely walk you can do in the winter time - from Saanenmöser to Gstaad. It is about 1 h 15 min walk on a panoramic trail with amazing landscape and views. Once in Gstaad, explore the village and return back to Saanenmöser by train.
Watch a World Cup Ski Race in St. Moritz
Why not visiting St. Moritz and cheering up for the world race skiers? It's a unique experience so why not giving it a chance! Have a look how I spent the day watching the ski race!
Try a Snowshoeing Adventure in Stoos
This is a must in Switzerland during the winter season! We bet you haven't seen a more beautiful viewpoint as THIS. Read more about it here.
Eat Fondue in an Igloo in Adelboden
Winter in Switzerland should't be boring. Why not spending a romantic evening in a snow igloo in Engstligenalp, near Adelboden? You can book it here.
Sleep in an Igloo and go Night Snowshoeing in Atzmännig
What about a snowshoeing trip in the night? Yes, when it's dark :) It's a unique feeling and definitely a special event! It is followed by a fondue dinner in a typical Swiss chalet which is a great thing on its own! You can even spend the night in a wooden POD igloo - a lovely experience. You can read and book your POD igloo night and the snowshoeing adventure here.
Go Snowshoeing in Valais
You shouldn't miss a snowshoeing adventure in the South of Switzerland! Book your stay in Brig, which is a great starting point for different winter activities in Valais and take the cable car to Riederalp. Once there, you can snowshoe along the longest glacier in Europe, called the Aletsch Glacier. Do you need more details? You can find them here.
Travel Insurance
Do you need a travel insurance for your trip to Switzerland? When we go travelling, we usually use World Nomads.
Did you do any of these activities? Would you add something? Let us know in the comments below!

I really love your travel itinerary for winter activities, my concern is what about travelling with a family from 5 members, do we still have the same enjoyment for such number, especially with our kids.
This is my second visit to Europe, the first to Switzerland, my plans to be there the last 2 weeks from January 2019, but I am not quite sure if it will be suitable for the kids, I will be very thankful if you give some advises from your past experience about where the kids could have some fun in the winter season.

Hi Ahmad, thanks for your comment!
I definitely think that Switzerland is a family destination - there are many things to do in the winter. However, the country is really expensive so doing extraordinary things can be really expensive for a family of 5. But you can go hiking to Uetliberg i.e. - it's for free and you will still enjoy those views and beautiful nature. Sledding could be also fun for kids!
Enjoy!

Is it safe to rent a car and drive around in November end?

hi RD
yes, should be no problem. The roads (e.g. high in the mountains) that would potentially not be safe, would be closed. So yeah, no worries and enjoy your holiday.
