Since we're living in Switzerland, we like going on various adventure trips around the country. In all these years, we booked many awesome places to stay, we'd like to know about. If you're wondering where to stay in Switzerland on your following trip, here are a few hotels we'd recommend you.
Where to Stay in Switzerland
Below is a list of places we'd recommend to stay in Switzerland - based on the location and the budget type.
Zurich - the city we live close by. Although many tourists like to skip it, there is no reason - especially in summer where you can go sightseeing, shopping and then jumping into the lake. Or in winter, if sunny, you can enjoy a the city with a view of the snowy mountains in the back. The secret place to go when in Zurich - Waid for its views! Heading to Switzerland to take gorgeous photos? Then Lucerne with it's huge lake is a must go! We'd recommend to book a place in or near the city and then visiting the following mountains: Pilatus, Rigi and/or Grosser Mythen. Enjoy, you will love it!
Basel - my second home town, as I'd like to call it (my grandparents live here)! It's a historical and cultural city, located near the French border, with a lovely river, dividing the city into Klein (small) and Gross (big) Basel. Looking for an accommodation? Here you go:
Berne is a great place to stay for a couple of days and do daily trips to the surrounding towns, lakes and mountains. But don't miss out exploring the city too! Especially the river called Aare with its gorgeous colour will grab your attention!

Each year there is a jazz festival happening in Montreux - a lovely city in the French part of Switzerland. Apart from that, make sure to rent a bike, cycle along the lake and visit the picturesque castle called Chillon. You will love it! Here are two accommodation types we'd recommend:

In the eastern part of Switzerland, there is a lovely place surrounding by mountains and just perfect for the winter fun - it's called Davos and one of our favourite places to go skiing and cross-country skiing.
