WHERE TO GO AND WHEN?
To be honest, it was so exciting writing this article. It made me want to pack now and travel the world. But let's not get ahead of ourselves...
The aim of the blog post below is to give you an overview of which destination to travel to in which time of the year. I usually have an idea where I want to go, but experience has taught me to also check and get informed about the best time to go there. So, with that in mind, I've decided to list my dream destination for each month. Although, I've already visited some of them, I'm still excited to have an overview of my other dream countries for the year 2015. I hope you will profit from it too. Enough of that, let's start planning our dream trips for next year now!
Top Destination in January
SOUTH AFRICA
SEE THE PENGUINS, STUNNING NATURE, VINE TASTING, SHARK CAGE DIVING
It's a shame I haven't been to one of my favourite countries yet! Actually, last year in November, I was already searching for a cheap flight connection, but unfortunately, my search was not successful and I ended up choosing another destination - which was Madeira (and that turned out quite well, to be honest).
South Africa is actually a whole-year destination, however it is still worth paying attention to its seasons tough. Summer in South Africa is considered to be from mid October to mid March. The peak season is mostly between December and January where all the famous festivals (i.e. Kaapse Klopse) are happening. Don't forget to check the visa regulations (Slovenians need a tourist visa!).
And now good news.. We'll be visiting South Africa in 2015, hopefully with some voluntary work at Kruger Park included!!

THE PHILIPPINES
SWIMMING IN TURQOISE WATER, KITESURFING, ZIPLINING, SIPPING COCONUT MILK
The Philippines. To be honest, I've never thought the Philippines would appear on my bucket list once. But when I discovered the JustOneWayTicket.com blog, where this girl is totally in love with the asian islands, I got tempted to visit them. Boracay is definetely one of the places I'm willing to discover.
Since I had no idea when would the best time to fly there be, I did some research for myself and of course also for you guys. This is what I came up with:
Although the weather in Philippines has become pretty unpredictable in recent years, there are still periods which are better to avoid. The period from June to September definetely falls under that, due to the rainly season. So, when to go then? The peak season is considered to be from Christmas to beginning of February, however, since our goal is to escape the tourist season, I would suggest to book a flight at the end of February, which also happens to be one of the least humid months. Honestly, I hate humidity so this is a very important fact to me :)
I'm afraid the Philippines will have to wait for another year (which is always sad!) because my destinations for 2015 are set (unfortunetly, as most of us, I have to plan ahead due to the limited amount of vacation days..).

OMAN

Oman has been on my bucket list ever since I started travelling. I've heard so many nice stories about the beautiful country and saw many amazing pictures of its landscape. I really wanna gaze at the lakes with the green water and the unspoiled nature the country has to offer. What I like the most is the lack of mass tourism. Unfortunately, I guess the country will have to wait for me another year or two...:/
The best time to visit Oman is from October to March. The average temperature in March is 29 °C. If you like to go swimming, the water temperature would be around 30 °C. In case you'd like to visit the desert, bring some warm clothes with you as it can get cold during the night. Check the visa regulations. In most cases you need a visa upon arrival.

Top Destination in April
PERU
HIKING, RAFTING, CLIMBING, ZIPLINING, SIPPING FRESH JUICES
My regular blog visitors may know, we've already been to Peru in April and May. An unforgettable journey through the land of Incas.
Please be smart and visit Peru in April or May. Don't choose the months between June and August, because it's the peak season and you will be waiting in long queues at main attractions and also the prices tend to be higher (unless you really like that?). In April we had a total of 1 hour of rain. The rest was sunny all day long! Not too many tourists and normal prices.
Once again, it's an amazing country if you like hiking, rafting, cycling, ziplining and more. If Peru is not on your bucket list, it's about time to put it there!! ;)

NEW YORK

And there it is. The city everyone should visit once. New York should be according to many reports a very cool destination. Unfortunately, I didn't have the time yet to discover it but if I'm lucky the city will see me in September 2014! (Finger crossed!).
Why did I go for May? Well, I've read from June to August the city can be very crowded and the prices may be even higher as usual. And in the city
it can get very cold in the winter. That is why May would be in my opinion the best choice. In general, I think exploring cities in May is the best time you can choose!
Oh man, I can't wait to visit you! Hope to see you in two months..

Top Destination in June
INDONESIA
SURFING, VISITING INDONESIAN TEMPLES, HIKING, SNORKELING
What's so cool about Indonesia? Hmm, let me think. I guess if you want to try surfing this is a destination for you! Go to Bali. This will be the place for you.
If you want to experience the true Indonesia with its culture and locals the islands like Nusa Lembongan or Gili Trawangan are a good choice. My intentions to visit Indonesia are the following: to experience the Indonesian jungle, to see the Indonesian temples, visit meditation centers and go surfing.
But why pick June? The weather is excellent throughout the country. However, you won't do anything wrong if you go between April and October when there is the dry season. If you want to avoid the peak season don't choose July. It gets pretty touristy out there.
Top Destination in July
ICELAND
SWIM IN THE GEOTHERMALLY-HEATED SWIMMING POOL, GET AMAZED BY THE CLIFFS, HIRE A CAR AND EXPLORE THE ISLAND
I was this (showing a tiny amount of space with my fingers) close to booking a flight to Iceland a couple of month ago, but my credit card decided it was not time to go there just yet (by for some reason not being accepted as a valid payment method). But nothing to be too sad about, the island will be still there in the next years (I hope so?).
When to go? July is a good choice. June, July and August are the best time to visit Iceland. If you're short on time, you can do the ring road on the island in only 10
days!
Avoid going there in the winter, unless you really want to experience only 3-4 hours of daylight and freezing temperatures. But hey, a good reason to travel there in winter are the Northern
lights, which are breathtaking and surely an unique experience.

BRAZIL
GET A SUNBURN IN COPACABANA, GO SURFING, DANCE TO SAMBA, EXPLORE THE AMAZON JUNGLE
To be completely sincere, all the commercials during the football WC presenting Brazil, got me. It was kind of hard to watch all the pre- or after football match analysis on the beautiful, sandy beaches, because it made me want be there.
When is the best time to visit Brazil? Let me see..
In 2015 the Carneval in Brazil will be in February. If you are travelling on a low budget don't visit Brazil between December and February because the prices may get extremely high and it get's also very hot and crowded. The best time to see the beauties of the South American country is from April to June and from August to October. The treks into Amazon are the best in August, due to the dry season. For all who are my co-sufferes when it comes to humidity - the humidity in Brazil is relatively high, especially at the coastline. However, this fact won't stop me from booking a flight there! Right?? ;)

TANZANIA
GO ON A SAFARI TRIP, RELAX ON THE BEACH, SLEEP IN A TENT
I didn't know much about Tanzania, only the fact that (like many, many other places) I want to go there one day. Why Tanzania? First of all, the safari trip is a one in a lifetime experience. Second, it's a destination where relaxing at the beach and both cultural and adventureous trips can be perfectly combined.
September is a perfect month to visit Tanzania. Why? It's the dry season, which lasts from June to October. The sky is usually clear and the weather is sunny. Avoid the rainy season from April to May and November to December. In countries like Tanzania where the safari trip may be the highlight of the trip it is advisable to check, when you can expect to see certain animals. For example, September is the month, when the Serengeti wildbeest migration can be experienced.
Check the visa requirements and the vaccination precausions.

Why Japan? Well, I'm impressed by their culture habits, lifestyle, festivals and clothing styles. I wish I could spend a couple of days with a traditional japanese family to experience their
daily rituals. What is more, I want to use their fast trains, get lost in Tokyo and figure out what's so cool about all the useless toys they sell ;) The only thing I'm concerned about are the
prices. They tend to be high in comparison to other Asian countries.
October is the best month to travel to Japan because the weather remains warm. It is not that humid and hot than in other months may be. The sky is usually clear. Expect the average temperature to be around 22 C degrees.

MOROCCO

I don't know about you, but when the weather gets shitty in November, I have the need to escape and go somewhere with a pleasant warm climate. The same thought was present in November of 2010 when my friend Meta and I decided to spend our vacation in Morocco. Again, the due to nice weather, we were able to walk around with short-sleeved clothes and flip flops.
Morocco is a nice escape. The peak season is considered to be from July to August. It's pretty crowded and expect the climate to be very hot. In my opinion the best time to visit Morroco would be right after the peak season - from October to November when the climate is mild.

CUBA
ENJOY THE BEACH, SMOKE A CIGAR, DANCE, DRINK FRESH JUICES
Well, Cuba was never really a travel goal of mine but around-the-world travellers mention Cuba as one of the most fascinating countries. Is that true? I don't know but it might be the nature, the culture and the people who make the country perfect. I guess, Cuba won't slip through my hands neither.
So let's see what's the climate there in December. The weather is sunny and warm with the average temperature of 27 C degrees. I have to warn you - December is the prime tourist month. But why did I choose to put Cuba as a perfect destination in December? I guess, many of us need an escape to warm countries and since the holidays around Christmas are a bit longer a destination like Cuba is the perfect fit. I'm sure there are some places on the island where you can escape from the crowded tourist places.
The high season in Cuba is from mid-November to mid-March and from July to August. Actually, Cuba is a year-around destination. You can't do anything wrong, even if you book it in the wet season, which is from May to December. The minimum temperature all year around is 21 C degrees.
