Sonja, a blog post about a lake, again?! I knoooow... I guess you will have to get used to it or just ignore it ;) The reason why I like to talk about these mountain lakes is quite simple: I've heard so many times of people travelling to Switzerland, visiting some of the cities and then leaving with the words: Yeah, it was nice but I've seen nicer places. Ammm...what?! You probably haven't seen these spots in the Swiss Alps! And you know what, there are so unique. I bet you will be speechless. So yes, spreading words about them is a must do! :)
The Bannalp Lake
Bannalp Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes in the Swiss Alps. It is hidden in the Central part of Switzerland, more specific southern of Lake Lucerne. The lake can be accessed by the cable car from Oberrickenbach - it is a few minutes ride and costs about 21 Swiss Francs per person. The car parking is free though.
If you like to go on an easy hike and if you starve to have the same scenery as we did, simply walk around the lake. It takes you ca. 1 hour. For advanced hikers, consider walking from the cable car end station to the Banalper Schönegg (1 hour, 40 min) or go on a hike to Chaiserstuel (2 hours 10 min). You can't do anything wrong by choosing one of these options. Enjoy! :)
